Speaking of Baron Samedi (see previous post), it may interest long time readers of the Star Chamber that Mr. Saturday is based on the voodoo character Baron Samedi. He’s a mischief maker who deals in the world between the dead and the living. I love the fact that his job in the voodoo rituals is to disrupt the ritual itself.

Some time ago I wrote a piece about mayonnaise scooping, which only today called forth an email from Brett, a real mayonnaise lover’s mayonnaise lover. Check out his mayo-centric site Oooh… What Sauce!

It reminded me of Paul Lukas’s Inconspicuous Consumption site and related Beer Frame zine, but of course its single-minded purpose distinguishes it. Remember mayonnaise = life.
